History
Launched by Publisher Linda Behmoiras as a tabloid newspaper in 2003, The Boca Raton Observer was originally intended to serve as a newsletter that shared community information across the city’s numerous country club communities. The first cover featured Linda’s two sons, the youngest still in diapers.
Thanks to her Type A personality and drive for success, Linda was not content with just a tabloid publication. Under her leadership, The Boca Raton Observer has become one of Florida’s most award-winning publications and is now Florida’s largest city magazine. To date, the magazine has won nearly 100 writing and design awards, including earning the Charlie Award for Best Overall Magazine three times.

A strong believer in giving back to the community, The Boca Raton Observer sponsors more than 60 charity galas and events annually. Linda has enjoyed the honor of chairing several major galas, helping to raise millions of dollars for local organizations. She has received numerous honors for her work, including being nominated for the Woman Volunteer of the Year award by the Junior League of Boca Raton.
Linda and husband Ralph recognize the importance of our community and respecting the wishes of its residents, elected officials and charitable organizations. A testament to this dedication and commitment is the fact that former Mayor Susan Whelchel named The Boca Raton Observer as the city’s unofficial ambassador.
