When Scott “Scotty” Gringauz was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 8 in 2006, Susan and Steven Gringauz suddenly found themselves navigating hospital stays, painful flare-ups and constant medical procedures. Determined to help their son, they set out to learn everything they could about inflammatory bowel disease, and they found support through the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
That search for answers evolved into a lasting commitment to the organization. Susan Gringauz now serves as advocacy chair on the Southern Florida Chapter board and is a member of the Luncheon for a Cure committee, devoting countless volunteer hours to supporting other families facing similar challenges.
Scott Gringauz has used his own experience to help others, speaking at Foundation events, leading fundraising walk teams, attending Camp Oasis and serving on the National Council of College Leaders.
On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation will honor Susan Gringauz with the Hope Award at its annual Luncheon for a Cure in recognition of her dedication to the organization.
The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive media sponsor of this event.
