The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County marked a milestone when its fifth annual Bill Malone Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament raised more than $500,000 to support public education throughout the School District of Palm Beach County. Presented by the Moss Foundation, the sold-out event took place April 24 at PGA National Resort and drew a record number of sponsors, golfers and community participants.
The tournament recognizes former school district chief operating officer Bill Malone and his longtime commitment to public education. During his tenure, Malone helped oversee the renovation and modernization of numerous schools, improving learning environments for students across the county.
“This tournament proves what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared commitment to education,” James Gavrilos, president and CEO of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, said in a statement. “Every dollar raised helps open doors to opportunity — empowering our teachers and ensuring every child in Palm Beach County has the resources they need to succeed.”
This year’s tournament welcomed more than 350 golfers for a full day of activities, including a helicopter golf ball drop by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a live auction and raffle prizes.Proceeds will support education programs, classroom grants and essential school supplies for Title I schools.
