Boca Helping Hands’ Board of Directors recently promoted Andrew Hagen from executive director to chief executive officer as the organization continues to expand its reach across South Palm Beach County.
A Boca Raton resident for two decades, Hagen was appointed executive director in June 2025 after eight years on the board and many years of service as a volunteer. His move to CEO reflects both the nonprofit’s growth and that its leadership structure is designed to support its increasing impact. In 2025 alone, the organization distributed more than 3.5 million meals through pantry bags and hot meal services across five sites.
“This change reflects not just a new title, but a new season of leadership, as Boca Helping Hands continues to grow in impact and vision,” Hagen said in a statement. “We have a span that is remarkable. We serve kids, seniors, families — everybody.”
Founded in 1998 as a small soup kitchen, Boca Helping Hands now serves more than 35,000 people annually through food assistance and workforce programs. Beyond immediate relief, the nonprofit focuses on long-term stability through programs such as its KidsPack Weekend Meals initiative and scholarships, as well as career training for fields such as healthcare and information technology.
