On March 4, community members and leaders will gather at The Addison Boca Raton for the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center’s (Levis JCC) Grabelsky Family Special Night for Special Needs “Dream Builder” Celebration. For more than 15 years, the community has come together to support the Levis JCC’s Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department’s critical programs.
The reception will honor Dana Egert for her ongoing support of the Levis JCC’s Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department and Samantha Solodkin with the Yad B’Yad – Hand in Hand Teen Leadership Award.
The event will showcase the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department programs like the Summer Camp and Winter & Spring Camp, hosted annually by Marleen Forkas Camp Kavod Year-Round Programs; the Fit & Fun Program, which helps individual with strength training, gaining flexibility and agility, improving coordination and building self-confidence; and the After School Enrichment program, offering activities designed to help participants build skills and socialize with peers.
For adults, The Schwedelson Young Adult Social Scene & Schwedelson Sunday Social Scene boast a variety of weekly activities and the Move & Mingle Adult Fitness Program teaches participants how to use fitness equipment and develop workout routines. SAVVY, an innovative self-defense, safety and self-awareness initiative provide training for teenage girls and adult women and the Parents’ Night Out & Kids Night Out give parents a chance to enjoy a Saturday evening of respite while their children engage in well-supervised activities such as crafts and games.
Each year, the “Dream Builder” event continues to grow, as does the community support for these critical programs.
The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive media sponsor.
