Broward County’s access to health care is set to improve greatly, thanks to the debut of Holy Cross Health Center & Emergency Care — Deerfield Beach, a $41 million facility that combines emergency and outpatient services under one roof.
The 25,000-square-foot center, which opened May 18, features a freestanding emergency department alongside primary care, specialty services, physical therapy and on-site lab testing and imaging, allowing patients to receive a range of care in a single location.
“For decades, families have turned to Holy Cross Health during some of the most important moments in their lives,” Pierre Monice, president and CEO of Holy Cross Health, said in a statement. “This center brings that same care closer to home. It means less time on the road and more time getting the care you need.”
The emergency department includes 14 private exam rooms, an ambulance bay and diagnostic imaging. Patients requiring additional treatment can transfer to the organization’s Fort Lauderdale hospital with their records easily shared via MyChart.
“Emergency care works best when it’s close,” Evelyn Clark-Kula, director of the emergency department and observation unit at Holy Cross Health, said in a statement. “When minutes matter, the last thing a family should be thinking about is how far they have to drive.”
The center offers a new option for Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton and surrounding communities, reinforcing Holy Cross Health’s investment in accessible, community-based care.
