The Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center will highlight both community impact and cultural programming this March, with two special events in Boca Raton.
On Wednesday, March 4, community leaders and supporters will gather for the Grabelsky Family Special Night for Special Needs Dream Builder Celebration, benefiting the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department. Chaired by Linda and Ralph Behmoiras and Diane and Fred Fiddle, the event will honor the Boca West Children’s Foundation for its ongoing support of special needs programming at the Levis JCC, while recognizing teen volunteer Marli Buchalter with the Yad B’Yad — Hand in Hand Teen Leadership Award.
For more than 15 years, the Dream Builder community has supported programs serving individuals with special needs from early childhood through adulthood, including camps, enrichment opportunities, fitness programs, life-skills initiatives and family support services.
Later in the month, on Sunday, March 15, the Levis JCC will welcome Tony– and Emmy Award–winning comedian Alex Edelman for a one-night performance at 6 p.m., marking the launch of ACL Live!, the JCC’s new Arts, Culture & Learning series. Known for blending sharp stand-up with personal storytelling, Edelman was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024. His solo show “Just for Us” enjoyed a celebrated Broadway run before being adapted into an HBO special.
The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor for these events.
