“Odyssey Into the Future” is about to take off at this year’s Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) Annual Gala. The journey will begin Dec. 9 at the Polo Club of Boca Raton.
“We are creating an out-of-this-world Gala with epicurean cuisine, lively entertainment, along with the opportunity to bid on intriguing auction items including travel, fashion and culinary experiences,” stated Linda Gefen, who is co-chairing the event with her husband, Ivan, Pam and Mitchell Barry and Jill and Richard Barry. COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place and a virtual option will be offered.
“We are truly thankful to have the opportunity to present our parents Marilyn and Stanley Barry with the prestigious 2021 Rales Humanitarian of the Year Award. Their recognition is very special for our family. They continue to serve as role models to us through their many years of philanthropy and dedication to JFS,” said Mitchell and Richard Barry. “For more than forty years, our parents’ extraordinary vision and generosity have impacted the lives of many throughout the United States and abroad. In 2000, when they moved to South Florida, they became even more active in their philanthropic endeavors.”
“JFS is honored to present Gregory Fried/Gregory’s Fine Jewelry with the 2021 Corporate Leadership Award,” says Danielle Hartman, JFS President and CEO. “Gregory lives by a simple mantra, ‘I am, therefore I do.’ Gregory’s generosity extends to many local organizations including JFS. Together, with his manager Barbara Kallen, he is able to take care of the clients’ needs and be involved in the community. Meeting new people and helping raise money for charity is what gives him his heart of gold.”
