The Lions of Judah are kicking off 2022 by welcoming back old friends and new faces at the Annual Lion of Judah Luncheon Jan. 20 at B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m.
The signature event will feature Bari Weiss, a national opinion writer, who has authored “How to Fight Anti-Semitism.”
Part of an international sisterhood 17,500 women strong, South Palm Beach County’s Lion contingent of more than 700 is among the largest in the country. Event Chairs Wendi Lipsich and Tamara Morgenstern have planned an exciting program, one of the first in-person events held by the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, following the onset of the pandemic.
“We are thrilled to be able to resume this opportunity to connect with other influential women in our community,” said Morgenstern.
Weiss was an op-ed and book review editor at The Wall Street Journal and an opinion writer and editor at The New York Times. The Jerusalem Post named her the seventh most influential Jew in the world.
“Hearing from a leading voice promises to be inspiring,” said Lipsich. “We’re very excited to be able to gather together, enjoy her remarks and plan for the season.”
A Lion-level individual woman’s gift of $5,000 or higher to the 2022 UJA/Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Annual Campaign is required to attend.
The Lions of Judah Luncheon is sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, in-kind sponsors Ivan & Co., Atlas Event Rentals, The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor.
