A new film series is bringing science to life for local audiences as Glazer Hall partners with the Cox Science Center and Aquarium for monthly screenings through May. The lineup blends blockbuster storytelling with real-world discovery, delving into themes such as space exploration, artificial intelligence and ocean conservation.
“Our mission is rooted in making science engaging and accessible in everyday life, and partnerships like this allow us to extend that impact beyond our campus,” says Eric Stonestrom, chairman of the board of trustees at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium. “The Science Movie Series lineup includes a range of iconic and thought-provoking films paired with expert discussions.”
Each screening features programming tied to the film. The series launched with “Apollo 13,” followed by
“Deep Impact,” both accompanied by expert Q&As connecting Hollywood drama with real-world science.
At 7 p.m. on April 22, the series continues with an Earth Day presentation of National Geographic’s “Ocean,” narrated by David Attenborough and performed with live accompaniment by the Palm Beach Symphony and singers from the Palm Beach Opera.
The final installment takes place at 6:30 p.m. on May 11 with “Minority Report” and a discussion with AI expert Nicholas Mohnacky.
