In Jacob’s Shoes dinner committee
In Jacob’s Shoes will host its 15th Annual Dinner & Auction, “Every Sole Counts,” on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Boca West Country Club. The yearly fundraiser is the nonprofit’s signature event, supporting its mission to provide shoes, socks, backpacks and school supplies to South Florida children in need.
The evening will feature cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions, a “Ticket to Paradise” raffle and entertainment by singer Bianca Rosarrio and The Smooth Operators. Honorees include Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Vivian Cardia; Community Leadership Award recipients Mike and Betsy Masarek; and Excellence in Service Award recipients Eddie and Rona Malka. The organization will also recognize its Jacob’s Shoes of Hope Heroes.
Since its founding in 2009, In Jacob’s Shoes has provided more than 275,000 pairs of shoes, 120,000 pairs of socks and 13,000 backpacks with school supplies to children across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. The charity serves children experiencing financial hardship, displacement or family crisis, many of whom are homeless, in foster care or living in shelters. By providing properly fitted shoes and essential supplies, the organization helps restore dignity, improve classroom participation and remind children that their community believes in them. In Jacob’s Shoes partners with more than 250 local charities, schools and agencies and has established over 150 shoe closets in shelters and schools across the tri-county area.
The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive media sponsor for this event.
