The Boca Regional Chamber is bringing back Festival Days this month, adding an extra feel-good layer to date nights. With nonprofit fundraisers, networking receptions, competitions and community events, residents have a chance to support local causes while attending gatherings across Boca Raton and its communities.
Running through Aug. 31, this annual program pairs area nonprofits with local businesses to raise awareness and funding for children, families, students, older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Early-month highlights include YMCA Casino Night on Aug. 6 at the Genesis Club inside Florida Atlantic University Stadium. Hosted by YMCA of South Palm Beach County and Home Dudes FL, the event will feature casino-style games, a poker tournament, food, drinks and raffle prizes, with proceeds supporting YMCA programs and services. The Golden Bell Sunset Happy Hour follows Aug. 7 at The Boca Raton Beach Club. Benefiting the Golden Bell Education Foundation, the pirate-themed gathering will include food stations, specialty cocktails and oceanfront views while raising money for educational initiatives in local schools. On Aug. 11, Crazy Uncle Mike’s will host Boca’s Got Talent in support of Myla’s Beleaf, a nonprofit that offers financial support to families facing childhood cancer. Late August brings several more opportunities to give back. Alzheimer’s Community Care will host Think, Drink & Do Good on Aug. 24 at Prosperity Brewers, bringing together trivia, networking and prizes while supporting dementia services and family resources. The American Disabilities Foundation’s Beer, Wine & Cheese Tasting Bash for People with Disabilities takes place Aug. 26 at Prosperity Brewers. Guests can sample wine or beer and cheese pairings while supporting accessibility programs and essential services for individuals with disabilities. Details are available through the event page.
Aug. 28 brings two fundraising events benefiting very different missions. Tiles, Treats & Tea at La Boulangerie Boul’Mich will benefit Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services through an afternoon of mahjong, tea and refreshments. That evening, Best Foot Forward Foundation will present Battle of the Bartenders at Boca Grove Country Club, where local bartending teams will compete while raising money for programs that support students from kindergarten through college. Rounding out the month is Bowling for Bread on Aug. 30 at Lucky Strike. Presented by Boca Helping Hands and Ovation Home Insurance Exchange, the event supports the organization’s KidsPack Weekend Meals Program and provides an afternoon of bowling for participating children’s charities.
