The Boca Raton Airport Authority (BRAA) has announced the grand opening of its cutting-edge Observation Area, a facility designed and built in collaboration with Hauber Design Associates, LLC and Recreational Design & Construction, Inc.
As the only observation area of its kind in Palm Beach County, this innovative addition offers aviation enthusiasts and the general public an unparalleled, up-close view of aircraft operations at Boca Raton Airport.
Boasting a sleek, 360-degree layout, the area allows visitors to enjoy unobstructed views while staying comfortable under weather-resistant, shaded coverings. The facility also features accessible ramps, ensuring inclusivity for all, along with ample seating, lighting and other convenient amenities.
The experience is further enriched by educational features such as detailed signage for aircraft identification, an anemometer to measure wind speed and a compass illustrating various departure paths. For an added interactive touch, visitors can listen to a live feed from the airport’s air traffic control tower.
“We are thrilled to introduce this innovative Observation Area to our community,” says Clara Bennett, executive director at the Boca Raton Airport Authority. “This facility not only enhances the Airport’s offerings but also provides an educational and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. As the only structure of its kind in Palm Beach County, I want to thank our board for their vision and commitment to fostering aviation interest for long-time enthusiasts and the next generation.”
