National Geographic photographer Carlton Ward Jr. will visit Florida Atlantic University (FAU) on Oct. 5 for a presentation on the endangered Florida panther and the future of the Florida Wildlife Corridor.
Ward will present “Path of the Panther: A Visual Journey to Preserve Wild Florida” at 6 p.m. in the Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium at the FAU Student Union. The lecture is part of the university’s WLW Visiting Fellows Lecture Program and is free to attend with registration.
A conservation photographer and National Geographic Explorer, Ward has spent years documenting Florida’s wildlife and wild lands. Since 2016, his “Path of the Panther” project has used photography, film and remote camera traps to tell the story of the Florida panther and the need to protect connected habitats across the state.
“The Path of the Panther” is supported by the National Geographic Society and other partners and is managed through Florida Wild, the conservation media company Ward founded in 2013.
