Florida Atlantic University (FAU) will bring mystery, music and classic swing to Boca Raton this summer with the announcement of its Festival Repertory Theatre 2026 lineup. Presented by the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, the season features two stage productions and a pair of big band concerts, all performed on FAU’s Boca Raton campus.
Festival Rep opens with “The Hollow,” a murder mystery that unfolds during an elegant country weekend gone terribly wrong. When Dr. Cristow is found dead, suspicion falls on nearly everyone around him, including his wife, his mistress and a former lover, each entangled in secrets that make the truth difficult to uncover. The production, directed by Mariah Reed, runs June 12 through June 27 in the Marleen Forkas Studio One Theatre.
The season continues with “Little Women,” the musical, inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s novel. The story follows the March sisters as they navigate ambition, heartbreak and family bonds, capturing the emotional highs and lows of growing up. Performances run July 10 through July 26 in the Studio One Theatre under the direction of Alyssa Fantel.
Festival Repertory Theatre concludes with two big band concerts featuring the Florida Wind Symphony Jazz Orchestra, FAU’s professional ensemble-in-residence. Scheduled for Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 in the Carol and Barry Kaye Auditorium, the concerts will showcase classic big band sounds alongside Lindy-hop and Jitterbug dancers, a small string section and guest vocalists.
