Lynn University named its new softball facility Tish Celenza Messinger Stadium after a $1.3 million gift from longtime supporter and former athlete Tish Messinger. The largest contribution ever made to women’s sports at the university, the pledge supports the newly completed stadium and expands scholarship opportunities for student-athletes, marking a significant investment in the Fighting Knights softball program.
“This transformative gift … will elevate our growing softball program and create lasting opportunities for our student-athletes,” President Kevin Ross says. “We are deeply grateful for Tish’s generosity and commitment to our students.”
Completed this spring ahead of the 2026 season, the stadium features synthetic turf, modern dugouts and an elevated press box with advanced technology. The venue seats more than 200 spectators and is already helping enhance recruiting and program development.
“Tish’s impact can be felt across campus,” says Lisa Miller, director of advancement at Lynn University. “She is a deeply engaged member of our community who supports priorities ranging from athletics to the Conservatory of Music, and she is passionate about creating opportunities for students.”
Messinger’s past giving includes support for student necessities, scholarships and annual initiatives. Her latest pledge further strengthens a softball program with more than 20 years of competition in the Sunshine State Conference, including 50 All-Conference honors, four All-Americans and three alumni who went on to play professionally. Lynn’s NCAA Division II Fighting Knights programs have won 27 national championships.
“I’ve been the head coach for four years, but with a new stadium and expanded scholarship support, the excitement truly feels like day one again,” softball coach Cassidy Pickett says. “This investment creates incredible momentum for our program.”
