Barbie Dream Fest is bringing major sparkle to South Florida March 27-29, as Serena Williams earns the event’s first Icon Award. The three-day celebration — previously featured in The Boca Raton Observer — Organizers say the award honors a leader and creator who inspires possibility and pushes boundaries while reflecting the spirit of empowerment at the heart of the brand.
"Barbie has always stood for dreaming without limits. She shows girls everywhere they can be athletes, leaders, creators — anything they imagine," Williams says. "I'm so excited to be part of the first-ever Barbie Dream Fest, where it’s all about celebrating the legacy of Barbie and inspiring the next generation to believe they can be anything."
Williams will appear in an exclusive onstage conversation for attendees, with a limited photo opportunity available for select passholders.
The festival will also bring together an impressive roster of role models across sports, science, storytelling and food, including Angel Reese, Dr. Swati Mohan, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Madison Marilla, Emily Calandrelli, Robin Gerber and Chef Becky Brown. Each will participate in panels, meet‑and‑greets and programming designed to highlight their achievements and inspire fans of all ages.
Guests can explore immersive attractions throughout the venue, including a life-size interactive Dream House, a “Totally Hair” glam station, a roller rink set to ’80s music, a fashion show, a cosmic astronaut Barbie installation and yoga sessions to start the day. The weekend will also feature “Barbie The Movie: In Concert” with an all‑women orchestra performing the score and soundtrack live.
