Walk4Friendship will bring more than 1,000 attendees to South County Regional Park on March 1 as Friendship House Boca hosts its annual walk and carnival supporting individuals with special needs. The event has become a community favorite, blending advocacy, celebration and togetherness while raising essential funds for year‑round programming.
“Walk4Friendship has become a true community celebration that breaks down walls of isolation and builds bridges of friendship,” Rabbi Sholom Kessler, executive director of Friendship House Boca, says.
The morning begins at 10 a.m. with registration and T‑shirt pickup, followed by an opening ceremony and one‑mile walk at 11. The Grand Community Carnival runs from noon to 2 p.m. and features the Aim High Canines Show, a live DJ, axe throwing, rock climbing, pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, a trackless train, face painting, caricature artists, Kona Ice and more.
Friendship House Boca serves more than 70 participants through social, recreational and educational programs supported by teenage and adult volunteers. The organization also launched Tour de Friendship this year, a 60‑mile charity bike ride that raised additional awareness for its mission.
“This event exemplifies what’s possible when a community comes together,” Kessler says.
