Yellow Ribbon Fund (YRF), a veteran service organization dedicated to supporting post-9/11 wounded, ill and injured service members — along with their caregivers and families from all branches of the U.S. military — will host its 20th Anniversary Celebration Gala on Feb. 20, from 6 to 11 p.m. at The Boca Raton.
With a dazzling Roaring Twenties theme, the event returns to the hotel for the second time after doubling in size and capacity, promising an unforgettable evening blending elegance and inspiration while honoring two decades of impact and resilience.
“This year’s Gatsby-themed 20th Anniversary Gala highlights Yellow Ribbon Fund's remarkable impact on over 40,000 military families. It's a powerful reminder of the achievements possible when our community unites with generosity, engagement and camaraderie to support those who have sacrificed so much,” says YRF Executive Director Gina Harrow.
The celebration, led by emcee Sean Spicer, will feature an elegant soirée complete with a cocktail reception, a formal color guard presentation and a sumptuous dinner, all complemented by dancing and live entertainment throughout the evening. Attendees can also take part in an exciting silent and live auction, offering exclusive items such as a two-night stay at The Boca Raton and Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, a private dinner at Miami’s Rao’s and a two-hour chartered cruise with Seed Sailing Co.
Captain Ben Harrow, a Boca Raton resident who served a 15-month deployment to Iraq, will deliver an inspiring keynote address. Critically injured during his service in 2012, Harrow refused to be defined by his circumstances and pioneered a medical procedure that has helped him — and other wounded service members — regain mobility.
Since its inception in February 2005, YRF has provided critical support to more than 40,000 military families, including 2,700 veterans and 2,000 caregivers annually. The organization offers housing, transportation, education, employment assistance and family support to aid in their recovery and rehabilitation.
As one of the first veteran service organizations to recognize the importance of keeping military families together during the critical recuperation phase, YRF offers two essential programs. Through the Crossroads Program, individuals receive no-cost accommodations and transportation while their loved ones receive care at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Meanwhile, the Keystone Program, which operates across 11 chapters nationwide, helps families transition home by providing life skills training, peer support and mental health access.
