For Boca Raton native Paige Kornblue, being a reporter isn’t about getting her face in the media — it’s about telling stories that matter. And as an award-winning journalist, television anchor, blogger, owner of Paige Kornblue Media and host of a new podcast, “Today’s Paige, The Podcast,” she has a lot of stories to tell.
“My father came to town as one of Boca Raton’s first full-time dentists in the 1960s and he and my mother got married at The Boca Raton,” Kornblue says. “Some of my favorite memories are finding small beaches to explore along the Intracoastal Waterway, playing rec soccer and softball, performing at the Little Palm Theatre and volunteering at the Debbie-Rand Memorial Thrift Shoppe with Mom. I am truly grateful that my children now have the opportunity to grow up and make a lifetime of memories here, too.”
As a high school student, Kornblue attended a summer program about radio, television and film at Northwestern University that ignited a love for broadcast journalism. After college internships with “Dateline NBC,” NBC Sports and “30 Rock,” she landed a news anchor job at KVHP FOX 29 in Lake Charles, LA before returning to South Florida to become a reporter for WPTV NBC 5 in West Palm Beach, then news anchor in 2008.
Kornblue’s career has allowed her to give back, which is incredibly important to her.
“My father was a dental captain in the Navy, my mom was a social worker and lifelong community volunteer and they dedicated much of their time volunteering at my schools,” Kornblue says. “Service became a big part of my life and I’m thrilled to be able to weave it into my work.”
In 2012, Kornblue pursued her favorite job of all: raising her three kids. Now, she shares the excitement and challenges of that job as part of the “Today” Parenting Team. Through Paige Kornblue Media, she continues to work as a journalist, influencer, brand ambassador, emcee, moderator, podcast and television host, video producer and voiceover talent.
“What I’ve got going right now — ‘Today’s Paige, The Blog’ and the podcast and Paige Kornblue Media — may be most special to me,” she says. “I’ve created a space where I can weave together my news and personal experiences. I highlight, write and speak about people, places, products and organizations doing great things and tackle subjects that matter to us all.”
Many of those stories are inspired by Kornblue’s own life experiences. A member of the “Sandwich Generation,” those caring for aging parents and their own children at the same time, Kornblue, 41, has felt love and loss. She watched her mother’s hard-fought battle with cancer and her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s, all while diving into the “wonderful chaos” of being a mother to twin boys and a daughter born just 18 months apart.
“The goal of Paige Kornblue Media is to create news, travel, sports, health, lifestyle and philanthropy content that is interesting, impactful, inspiring and, most of all, helpful to others. Besides my kiddos, that’s the stuff that makes my world go ‘round.”
