Miami Art Week 2025 transforms the city into a living canvas — with artificial intelligence as its brush. The annual event takes place Dec. 1-7.
The official kickoff at the Biltmore Hotel debuts Art Coral Gables, a new cultural experience inspired by the Venice Biennale and Les Rencontres d’Arles in France.
This year, the buzz isn’t just about brushstrokes — it’s about algorithms. For the first time, AI-generated works will feature prominently across multiple venues.
At Context Art Miami, a pavilion titled “Synthetic Visions” presents works created entirely by generative models trained on centuries of art. One highlight: a haunting digital fresco that morphs with each viewer’s emotions, captured via biometric sensors. “It’s not just art you see,” says curator Lila Moreno. “It’s art that sees you.”
Meanwhile, photoMIAMI™ introduces “Ghosts in the Frame,” a collection of AI-enhanced photography that blends historical archives with speculative futures. Visitors walk through time-bending portraits that imagine what Miami might look like in 2125.
The week culminates in a panel, “Who Owns the Muse?,” where artists, technologists and ethicists debate evolving boundaries. The consensus: Art is changing, and Miami is leading the way.
