Boca resident Richard Weissman has touched the lives of countless children.
He's the co-founder, chairman and CEO of The Learning Experience, an early education academy with more than 400 locations open or under development nationwide.
Now, even more kids will benefit from his good works because he was recently selected to lead the board of directors for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, where he has been a longtime board member. As chairman, Weissman will work with the organization to fulfill its mission of granting life-changing wishes to critically ill children.
In the past, he has led fundraising events that have raised more than $2 million. He’s also been instrumental in the creation of The Learning Experience’s first-of-its-kind preschool curriculum in partnership with Make-A-Wish, which focuses on teaching philanthropy to children.
“Richard Weissman and his family have been integral during some of our chapter’s most transformational and impactful years,” says Norman Wedderburn, the charity’s president and CEO, according to a press release. “His unique servant leadership qualities and ability to mobilize and inspire ideally fit the mold for chairman as we continue to build and grow.”
