“All the world’s a stage” is one of the most famous lines William Shakespeare ever wrote, and it’s one that still resonates today, as a reminder that performance, storytelling and the roles we play are woven into nearly every part of our lives.
Few embody that idea more gracefully than our cover star, Amy Grant, whose voice and presence have endured across generations. In “Leaning In” (page 66), we explore her personal and professional journey, and in particular the resilience that continues to define her both on and off the stage. Like so many, I’ve long been drawn to songs like “Baby Baby” — which still feels as joyful and timeless today as it did when it first hit the airwaves in 1991 — and with a new album out now, her story is far from finished.
As someone who loves live music, I make it a point to attend as many concerts as possible, whether it’s Andrea Bocelli, Bruce Springsteen, Pitbull or Maluma. There is something special about experiencing a performance in person and sharing that energy with thousands of fellow fans. While entertainment continues to evolve, so do the ways we engage with it. In “The Price Of Admission” (page 72), we examine the rising costs of concerts and live events, and what those economics mean for audiences who long to be part of shared cultural moments.
Closer to home, we turn our attention to an incredible talent. Our feature “Beyond His Years” (page 78) introduces Yair Keydar, a performer who is already making waves at age 13, offering a glimpse at his dedication and promise of his rising career. I’ve had the pleasure of watching Yair’s journey since he first moved to South Florida, attending his performances and even celebrating with his family at his bar mitzvah. Seeing his talent, confidence and passion develop over the years has made his success espcecially rewarding to witness.
Finally, we go behind the camera in “Masters Of The Movies” (page 82) to look at the visionary storytellers who have taken bold creative risks to bring the art of cinema to life, teaching us that entertainment is not just about escape — it’s about perspective.
Together, these stories reflect the many ways entertainment continues to inspire us, challenge us and connect us — whether we’re in the audience, on the stage or somewhere just beyond the spotlight.
Before I close, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our recent advance screening of “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” The event was one of our most successful to date, bringing together clients and friends of the magazine for a memorable girls’ night out. As a film centered on the publishing world, it felt especially fitting for our team and made the experience all the more enjoyable.
