The Brain Bus raises awareness of Alzheimer's and related dementias and addresses the benefits of early detection, early diagnosis, brain health and risk reduction. With two mobile units and virtual offerings, the Brain Bus is able to travel throughout Florida.
Rehabilitation—like physical, occupational, and speech therapy—can make a big difference in the lives of people with dementia and those that care for them. These therapies help people stay independent, active, safe, and connected to others.
Learn how rehab can:
Reduce the risk of falls
Slow down physical and mental decline
Support caregivers
Help with behavior changes
Use tools and home changes to improve safety and comfort
Additionally, explore more about Alzheimer’s and dementia, including available treatments, brain health strategies, the services offered by the Alzheimer’s Association and ways to get involved.
Nicole Dawson, PT, PhD, FNAP, a Board Certified Geriatric Physical Therapist Emeritus from the University of Central Florida, will present research and real-life examples demonstrating that therapy can benefit individuals, including those with dementia, at any stage of the disease.
