The Brain Bus raises awareness of Alzheimer's and related dementias and addresses the benefits of early detection, early diagnosis, brain health and risk reduction. With two mobile units and virtual offerings, the Brain Bus is able to travel throughout Florida.
Significant progress has been made in understanding
Alzheimer's and dementia, leading to improved
prevention, detection, diagnostics, and treatments.
Quality sleep is crucial for memory consolidation,
while poor sleep increases the risk of cognitive
decline, making it a modifiable risk factor for brain
health.
Scientists are studying how sleep enhances memory
and cognition, focusing on which memory aspects
benefit and the brain activity patterns involved. The
talk will explore how sleep not only stores memories
but also helps the brain connect them, extract
meaning, and transform daily experiences into
lasting knowledge.
