Carlise Guy & The NuBlu Band brings high energy with its multifaceted music compilation from Blues to R&B (Motown) while also showcasing appetizing music with Jazz and even a little country catering to the audience. The rhythm section is led by musical director and lead guitarist Marcil "Marc'"Maddox, Dan Henley on drums, vocals of Carlise Guy, daughter of the Legendary Grammy award winner Buddy Guy and some of Chicago's finest musicians on bass, keyboards and saxophone. Carlise and NuBlu have traveled throughout the US and internationally bringing an experience creating memories for all ages.

PERFORMER BIO:

Marcil “Marc” Maddox (Lead Guitar)

Marc is musical director and founder of The NuBlu Band along with his life-long friend Dan Henley. Marc is the supernova of expressive artistry with his exceptional guitar licks and string bending. His innovative style and technical sensibilities awaken the blues and all genres of music and sound. With love and passion for the music industry, Marc has immersed himself in numerous ways in music. As CEO and Founder of MarMax Entertainment he scouts out and hires the talent for Buddy Guy's Legend including private events and creating intimate concert series with mainstream artists as well as booking talent for other venues and festivals in the US and abroad. He is a four Time Blues Hall of Fame Recipient (Chicago Chapter).

Dan Henley (Drummer)

Dan, also founder of The NuBlu Band, has been playing the drums for as long as one can remember. His drumming directly impacts the fierce energy of the band. Dan's improvisational instincts create cohesion and contour and channels inspiration from his unique beats. He too is a Blues Hall of Fame Recipient and is no stranger to the industry in other ways. He worked for Playboy for many years in the editorial department where the band has performed for private employee events. His compassion for the music industry also goes beyond his playing. He decided to take a dive into entrepreneurship as well along with his partners, Marc and Carlise and started Blu26 Studios where he spearheaded and managed the rehearsal studio to local and mainstream artists for preparation of upcoming concerts. Blu26 also hosted various events and showcased up and coming talent and small private events.

Carlise Guy (Vocals)

Carlise joined NuBlu shortly after its inception. Contributing to her rich melodic vocal tones, Carlise is the heart of the band. She skillfully commands the stage with her energetic and fierce presence, she captivates audiences, as she connects, inspires, and breathes life into every note. She is the treat! Carlise can lull you into cozy or have you on your feet, dancing the night away. She is her father's Legacy, as the daughter of legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy.

Together, The NuBlu Band is not just a band. It is friend-family group “framily” that has a passion and drive to embrace the universal language we all love and enjoy. NuBlu will continue to keep the blues alive, the tradition that Carlise's father began, yet incorporating contemporary influences. NuBlu is the cornerstone of a fun time. You can count on them to usher in crafted, high quality musical creations. They are innovative curators of multiple genres, traveling the US and Internationally blending traditional Chicago Blues with elements of R&B, soul, and funk.
