United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention’s Community Response & Youth Action Teams present “Let’s Celebrate the Positive in our Community,” an in-person event on December 1.
- With most kids making healthy choices and remaining free of alcohol and other drugs, United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention is hosting this in-person event to celebrate the positive in our community and provide the public with information about youth and their decision to remain alcohol and drug free.
- During the event, there will be music, Zumba, giveaways, and other fun activities for attendees.
- Special guests include Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne, School Board Member and Countywide At-Large Debra Hixon, young leaders, a variety of youth health and wellness professionals from Memorial Healthcare System, CairoSpeaks/CairoWrites, Strong Nation and others.
Topics will include:
-Decisions facing youth today
-Importance of mind and body wellness
-Substance use prevention
-Available health resources in the community
The event is free and open to the public. Community service hours available upon request for school students.
