History of Black Florida Program: Celebration of Black History Month at the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum
From the earliest settlers to the civil rights movement, and beyond, Prof. Evan Bennett, Asst. Professor of History at Florida Atlantic University, will discuss key events in the history of African Americans in Florida, as well as leaders in the struggles.
The staff will follow the talk with a short tour of the museum, which is dedicated to collecting and sharing the Black history of Palm Beach County, as well as an explanation of the the significance of the home of Dr. Spady, a prominent educator and community leader from 1922-1957. https://www.spadymuseum.com/
