Constitution Day and Letterpress Appreciation Day at Jaffe Center for Book Arts, Twelfth Annual Open House

Join us for a fun-filled 2-day event at the Jaffe Center for Book Arts as we celebrate Constitution Day and show our love for letterpress! Located at the S. E. Wimberly Library, this in-person event is a must-attend for book lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Explore the Jaffe collection, get a free photo from a vintage Paper Moon Photobooth, and browse the Mini Makers Marketplace.

During the open house, make a free souvenir print that we've designed especially for the celebration. You'll either be printing on JCBA's 1890 Wesel Iron Handpress or on one of our 1940s Vandercook Proof Presses. Either way: YOU will be the printer.

You'll print a broadside set by hand from JCBA's collection of historic wood and metal types and vintage imagery while we give you a brief introductory immersion into the fascinating and venerable craft of printing.

Whether you're a seasoned book arts aficionado or just curious to learn more, this event offers something for everyone.
