Dr. Gianni Bianchini

Dr. Gianni Bianchini’s show is a heartfelt tribute to the timeless music of the Nat King Cole Trio. As a virtuoso pianist and skilled vocalist, Bianchini brings a fresh and respectful interpretation of Cole’s classic hits. The performance combines intricate piano arrangements while honoring the trio’s signature sound. Through his dedication to the trio’s legacy, Dr. Bianchini transports the audience to a golden era of jazz, blending nostalgia with his own unique artistry.

PERFORMER BIO:

Dr. Gianni Bianchini is among the leading pianist, vocalist and organist in today’s jazz scene. He has played, recorded or studied with many of jazz’s prominent artist such as; Jason Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval, Joshua Redman, Jeff “Tain” Watts, John Scofield, Duffy Jackson, Warren Wolf, Chico Pinheiro, Ira Sullivan, Steve Bailey, and countless others across from around the world.

Throughout his education, Dr. Bianchini has had the opportunity to study at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music, a masters degree from New York University, and his Doctorate in jazz piano performance from the University of Texas.

Dr. Bianchini is currently on staff as a Director of piano at Berklee College of Music’s Global Partner La Universidad de San Francisco de Quito, in Ecuador. Dr. Bianchini taught as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas and as an Adjunct Professor at New York University. In addition to teaching, Dr. Bianchini continues to perform with his piano trio, organ trio (GOT), and his quintet (The Quintini) across the globe.

Ron Jackson:

World-renowned, Seven String Jazz Guitarist, composer and arranger, Ron Jackson has performed, recorded, and taught music in over 30 countries. Jackson is likely the only African American seven-string jazz guitarist alive. His goal is to bring awareness to the instrument through education, music, and events. As a musician, Jackson has mastered the six, seven, and twelve-string guitars and plays other fretted string instruments like the ukulele, banjo, and electric bass. He has been featured as a leader in jazz festivals all over the world, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz Festival, and Winter Jazzfest.

Jackson’s influences include George Benson, Pat Metheny, Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix. He has studied under the tutelage of Pat Martino, Barry Harris, Melvin Sparks, Mike Stern, and the seven-string master, the late Bucky Pizzarelli.

As a recording artist, Jackson has had a successful recording career, releasing eight albums. Beginning with the chart-topping “Guitar Thing” (1991) and “Flubby Dubby” (2008) which was recorded live with his Hammond Organ trio. His most recent release, the Jazzweek Top 100 album, “Standards And Other Songs” (2019) was his first as a leader on sev- en-string, incorporating traditional standards and jazz reimagining of radio-friendly pop songs, like Drake’s “Passionfruit”. Jackson’s influences include George Benson, Pat Metheny, Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix. He has studied under the tutelage of Pat Martino, Barry Harris, Melvin Sparks, Mike Stern, and the seven-string master, the late Bucky Pizzarelli.
