Recent discoveries in Huanchaco, a coastal site in the North Coast of Peru, have unveiled exquisite jewelry made of gold and gilded copper. Along with beads carved from semi-precious stones and shells gathered on the present day Ecuadorian coastline, researchers are now rethinking how trade and exchange played a role in early Andean metallurgy.
