Feeding South Florida® – the leading hunger-relief organization in South Florida – has teamed up with the Florida Panthers, Publix, Publix Charities, Link Logistics, Morgan Stanley, the Friedlander Group and Commissioner Daniela Jean to honor South Florida veterans this Veterans Day. The Third Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon will take place at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m.

Veterans from all branches of the military are invited to an afternoon of appreciation featuring a chef-prepared meal, live entertainment, and special recognition. This free event welcomes each veteran and one guest.

Feeding South Florida is experiencing an unprecedented increase in providing nutritious food to over 1.2 million individuals in South Florida due to inflation, the strained supply chain, rising fuel prices, and increased housing costs, among other factors. Veterans dedicate their lives to serving the United States. However, many veterans and active military members and their loved ones face food insecurity. According to Feeding America, one in nine working-age veterans is food insecure, and 1.2 million low-income veterans use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
