Jean Flagler Matthews welcomes visitors to Whitehall in 1978.
The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum (One Whitehall Way, Palm Beach, FL) celebrates its anniversary each year by opening to the public free of charge in honor of the Museum's founder, Jean Flagler Matthews, who was Flagler's youngest granddaughter. This year, the Museum is offering free admission on both Saturday, June 5th and Sunday, June 6th as part of an extended Founder's Day Weekend admission program. Capacity will be limited this year for safety, with reservations required in advance and entry times assigned to all visitors.
During Founder's Day Weekend, Whitehall's first and second floors will be open, as will Railcar No. 91 in the Flagler Kenan Pavilion. The Museum's previously announced Visitor Experience and Public Safety Protections remain in place. Parties will be limited to 4 people, will be asked to maintain social-distancing of at least six feet from other parties, and masks or face coverings will be required for all visitors over the age of 2.
The Museum Store, which is currently located in the historic West Room for a socially-distanced shopping experience, will be open on Founder's Day Weekend for those who wish to shop. Iced tea, lemonade, and lavender cookies will be available for purchase and may be enjoyed outside on Museum grounds.
To reserve Founder's Day Weekend admission tickets, call (561) 655-2833 ext. 10. Tickets will not be available online or in-person. Entry times are on the hour and half-hour on Saturday, June 5th from 10 am to 4 pm, and on Sunday, June 6th from 12 pm to 4 pm. The Museum will close at 5 pm both days.
