H.O.W. Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper is excited to announce that the 21st Annual Time is of the Essence Luncheon will be held at The Mar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, beginning at 11:30 am. Guest speaker will be six-time Emmy and Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh. H.O.W.'s primary fundraising event, chaired by Frances Fisher and Betsy Matthews, will honor Dr. Robert C. Knapp, H.O.W.’s Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, for his contributions to H.O.W. and his groundbreaking work in ovarian cancer research.
Guest speaker Tovah Feldshuh, an accomplished actress, is currently on Broadway performing in the hit musical "Funny Girl" and has also been in major motion films and various television productions. She has also been awarded three honorary Doctorates of Humane Letters. Tovah’s presentation will include Lilyville stories about a mother/daughter relationship and the heroic women roles she has played. The book Lilyville, written by Tovah, shares heartfelt stories about brave women and their stories of resilience while dealing with cancer.
During the luncheon, a special tribute will be given to Dr. Knapp, a true pioneer in ovarian cancer research- who co-invented the blood test, CA 125, that detects ovarian cancer. Dr. Knapp is set to celebrate his 96th birthday in January and will continue the celebration with this much-deserved honor that he will share with family and friends attending, as well as medical students that received his medical scholarships.
Guests of the event will also have the opportunity to bid on some amazing and unique items in the silent auction and a raffle for the Cartier Ballon Bleu watch, graciously donated by Greenleaf & Crosby.
Tickets are $400 each. For more information or to request an invitation, please call H.O.W. Executive Director Jennifer McGrath at 561.406.2109; email jennifer@howflorida.org or visit www.howflorida.org.
