The Wellington Art Society (WAS) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Art Scholarships, which will be awarded to two exceptional high school seniors at the Society’s upcoming meeting on May 13, 2025, at the Wellington Community Center, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington, FL.
The evening will begin with a meet-and-greet at 5:30 PM, followed by the member spotlight and a brief business meeting. Each student will exhibit their work, share insights into their creative process, and discuss their future plans. The public is warmly invited to attend this inspiring event.
This year’s scholarship recipients are:
Sophie Li of West Boca Community High School
Mariana Padilla of Spanish River High School
Scholarships will be presented by Jan Gmitter, Chair of the WAS Scholarship Committee.
Since its founding in 1981, the Wellington Art Society has been dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts in Palm Beach County. The WAS Scholarship Program, established in 2001, provides financial support to talented young artists pursuing college degrees in the visual arts. Over the past 24 years, WAS has awarded more than $135,000 in scholarships, helping local students become educators, illustrators, authors, curators, artistic directors, professional artists, and advocates for the arts.
The Scholarship Program is entirely funded by membership dues, community donations, artist exhibitions, municipal art shows, raffles, and commissions. The Wellington Art Society extends sincere gratitude to its generous supporters and encourages the community to invest in the future of art by making a tax-deductible donation at: www.WellingtonArtSociety.org
