This tribute show pays homage to the legendary music that brought Samba and Bossa Nova to the forefront of the global music scene. Experience the magic of Mendes’ arrangements as we take you on a musical journey through some of his most iconic hits.

PERFORMER BIO:

Hailing from St. Augustine, Florida, ZaZa Flamenca is composed of Parisian singer/songwriter & guitar player Yael Zaza, concert classical guitarist Dr. Jonathan Dotson and Orlando Noel Muñiz drummer and percussionist from Puerto Rico.

The FULL Band is composed of 3 vocals, 2 classical guitars, and percussion. ZaZa Flamenca has been gathering much critical acclaim throughout the Sunshine State for their energetic and fiery performances.

The Band always delivers a thrilling and virtuosic display of the world’s most seductive rhythms with their own touch of Brazil and Latin Vibe.

Jonathan Lee Dotson : A native son of St. Augustine, has earned multiple music degrees including his Doctor of Musical Arts in Guitar Performance. In addition to teaching music at the college level, Jonathan has played classical guitar on four continents, writes and arranges music for guitar, and is skilled at music production and recording.

After spending years in Texas, Jonathan has moved back to St. Augustine and serves as the senior guitar instructor at the Jacksonville School of the Arts. A collaborator by nature, Jonathan is the new director of the guitar program at St Augustine High School.

Orlando Noel Muñiz is a professional, drummer and percussionist from Puerto Rico. His versatility ranges from South American folk rhythms to European styles like flamenco and gypsy sounds to rock, funk, reggae and jazz.

Being able to project the versatility of sounds that make the music sound authentic made him a perfect fit for the Zaza Flamenca project. Currently Orlando resides in Saint Augustine, Florida, where he performs on a consistent basis as an international and local musician.
