After a soft launch this summer, Takato has officially opened its exclusive, 10-seat omakase lounge, Oku by Takato, featuring a seasonal, multicourse menu curated by world-renowned executive chef Taek “Taka” Lee.
“Broward County has few truly high-end omakase experiences, and we are proud to bring something unparalleled to the area. This concept allows us to push boundaries and introduce guests to a level of artistry that is among the best in South Florida,” says Lee.
Located in the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, the restaurant fuses Japanese and Korean flavors. While the Oku menu varies, diners can look forward to dishes like Lobster Bisque, Toro topped with caviar, Ora King Salmon, A5 Wagyu and delicacies flown in from Japan and Korea.
The menu in the main Takato space features an assortment of sushi and sashimi. The hot dishes include various fried-rice options, baked scallops, Lobster Udon, Chilean Seabass and several Wagyu selections. There is an extensive cocktail menu with everything from a Shikoku Margarita, made with tequila, mezcal, passion fruit, cardamom and agave, to The Golden Bee, with Misunderstood Whiskey, fig-and-honey syrup and lemon.
Finish off the evening with a sweet treat: Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu, Sushi Ice Cream or the Chef’s Choice Dessert Platter.
Takato is located at 551 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. For more information, visit takatorestaurant.com.
