Hellenic, the newly expanded Greek and Mediterranean restaurant from chef Nikol Zarbalas, is stepping into its next chapter in Coral Springs.
After a successful soft opening in January, the team — many of them family — is now serving diners in a new 5,000 square-foot space, more than triple the size of the restaurant’s first location.
“We started small by design, focusing on our flavors and execution so that when we officially opened with all the bells and whistles, we’d be ready,” Zarbalas said in a statement.
The original restaurant was a local favorite, earning national attention when Zarbalas was featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Guy’s Grocery Games.”
Designed by the chef, the new space blends industrial touches with homey warmth, anchored by a 20-seat communal table and a 2,000-book free library.
The menu combines traditional Greek dishes with modern iterations. Diners can sample Greek Heat Wings tossed in a spicy house sauce or dive into the Greek Quesadilla layered with mozzarella, tomatoes, pickled onions and Hellenic Sauce, with a choice of chicken, gyro or braised lamb. Sandwich lovers can indulge in the Greek Dip, stuffed with braised lamb and caramelized onions. Entrées range from Kataifi Fried Shrimp atop cheesy traxana (Greek grits) to classics such as Moussaka and Smothered Chicken in a feta cream sauce.
Need to satisfy your sweet tooth? Try the housemade Bougatsa (semolina custard in phyllo dough), Warm Baklava or Baklava Cheesecake.
