Following the successful launch of its first location in New Jersey last year, restaurant group Acurio International has opened Jarana, a Peruvian term for celebration.
The menu showcases a melting pot of Japanese, Chinese and Italian flavors. Located in Aventura, the restaurant serves both lunch — including a $25 executive lunch menu and ceviche bar —as well as dinner.
The ceviche bar offers a variety of items including Cebiche Nikkei made with tuna, cucumber, avocado, tamarindo and soy sauce leche de tigre; and Tiradito Bachiche featuring hamachi, parmesan, leche de tigre, avocado, chalaca and olive oil.
There is a $59 prix-fixe dinner, which includes three courses, plus dessert for two. There also are large sharable dishes including Pescado Frito Nikkei, whole-fried snapper made with sweet and spicy Nikkei sauce and served with crispy broccoli or the Jarana Marinera — a compilation of octopus, Hokkaido scallops, mahi mahi and shrimp grilled with anticuchera and chimichurri and served with choclo, large kernel corn popular in Peru.
Try one of the causas, a layered potato dish or order from the Wok.
“Our Aventura location will be a vibrant hub where guests can savor the essence of Peru in every bite and every moment,” says Chef Martha Palacios.
The drink menu features a variety of piscos, spritzes, beers and a large selection of wines. Top off your meal with a sweet treat — from cake to custard to pudding.
Jarana is located at 19505 Biscayne Blvd., Ste. 5150, Aventura. For more information, visit jaranarestaurant.com.
