Banana Daddy isn’t just opening a soft-serve shop in Midtown Miami — it’s staging a full-blown dessert takeover, dripping with color, personality and what the founders call “big banana energy.”
The new storefront marks the brand’s first permanent home after its electric “Swirls!” truck made a splash during Miami Art Week last December. The truck will continue bringing the brand’s signature treats and cheeky personality to neighborhoods across the city.
The concept comes from two Miami couples — Tom Favorule and Jordan Frey and Chris and Emily Campbell. The four set out to create soft serve that is smooth, creamy and, as Favorule put it, “unlike anything [my] friends had put in their mouths before.”
Everything starts with scratch-made banana and coconut bases, spun into flavors such as Big Banana, Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla Protein. The menu goes big on personality, too, with sundaes such as Gimme S’more, Berry Creamy and Daddy’s Classic. Beyond soft serve, the shop also offers indulgent sweets such as fresh-baked Carrot Cake and Blackout Brownies.
Inside the 1,500-square-foot shop, Banana Daddy leans all the way into its identity. A mix of bold signage, vivid hues and whimsical design elements creates a space that feels inviting and fun. Indoor and outdoor seating are complemented by photo-friendly touches, most notably a pixelated banana wall that sets the scene. Frey, the creative director, calls the visuals a key part of the storytelling, while Emily Campbell stated in a press release that the space was intended to be a celebration of sorts.
“We built Banana Daddy to be a place where people can come together, indulge, laugh and feel completely at home,” she explained. “Dessert should make you happy, not guilty, and we’re excited to bring Miami a space where joy, connection and a little bit of cheekiness all live under one roof.”
Banana Daddy is located at 3415 N.E. 1st Ave., Miami. For more information, visit eatbananadaddy.com.
