First opened in 1957, Fort Lauderdale’s iconic Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina has undergone a $1 billion renovation, unveiling an array of new culinary destinations inspired by flavors from around the world.
At Calusso, a sophisticated restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, diners can enjoy a selection of seafood, pasta, meats and fresh vegetables influenced by the French and Italian Rivieras. Sotogrande offers dishes from Southern Spain and the Eastern Mediterranean in a bright, inviting space boasting large communal tables — the perfect setting for shareable plates and a lively social atmosphere. Those craving a taste of France will want to head to Garni Cafe, an upscale bistro-style cafe focusing on French-inspired brunches served all day. Don’t forget to check out the Champagne Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. The famed Pelican Landing is making a comeback. The laid-back dockside retreat allows guests to sample fresh local flavors, including conch fritters.
Got little ones? Check out Saltbreeze, a family-friendly indoor/outdoor cafe with a Latin-inspired menu. The kids will also love Sweet 66, which pays tribute to the flavors of Florida with handmade confections.
For those looking to get away from the children, there is The Nectar Room, an adults-only poolside venue offering Asian-inspired bites and sake-infused cocktails. Adults can visit Windows 66 to sample a selection of vodkas and gins from around the world.
For a special night out, there’s the Pier Top lounge with its unrivaled 360-degree ocean and skyline views. The menu features champagne-and-caviar service, signature cocktails and more.
The restaurants will be opening throughout the year, so be sure to check their website.
