After more than a decade away, China Grill has returned to Miami at Bal Harbour Shops.
Founded by restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, China Grill first arrived in Miami Beach in 1995, transforming Fifth Street and Washington Avenue into a vibrant dining hub. The restaurant became synonymous with high‑energy, celebratory meals, earning four stars from the Miami Herald. Its new Bal Harbour home places it alongside glitzy neighbors such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, reaffirming its place among South Florida’s premier dining destinations.
“There’s been a real demand to bring it back, and Bal Harbour feels like the right place to do it in a way that honors what it was while moving it forward,” Chodorow said in a press release.
Lobster Pancakes
Signature dishes include the rich, savory Lobster Pancakes and the deeply caramelized Lamb Spareribs. Dim sum remains central to the menu, from Spicy Beef Dumplings to “Green Leaf” Dumplings made with truffle, white asparagus, yam, corn and aged ponzu.
Also making a return are the salads that helped put China Grill on the map, including the Confucius Chicken and Crackling Calamari. New to the menu is the Singapore 17 Vegetable salad with salted plum dressing.
Entrées showcase China Grill’s global influences, with items such as Veal Chop “Milanasia” and Thai Crab Cakes with mango-chili salsa. Seafood standouts include Shanghai Lobster and Sweet & Sour Salmon Over Thai Black Rice With Crispy Ginger.
