On Oct. 21, Amar Sandwich Shop opened its doors in downtown Delray Beach. The fast-casual restaurant draws inspiration from Lebanon’s vibrant street food culture, offering freshly baked pita wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads from a wood-burning oven.
Sister to Delray’s acclaimed Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar, this new venture offers authentic flavor in a more laid-back setting.
“Amar Sandwich Shop lets us showcase the same high-quality ingredients and hospitality, perfectly suited for a casual lunch or dinner along Atlantic Ave.,” says owner Nicolas Kurban. “We’ve always wanted to share Lebanese flavors in a more approachable way.”
Highlighting Middle Eastern cuisine, each dish balances bright, tangy and smoky notes with fresh herbs and spices like lemon, za’atar, tahini, sumac and olive oil.
Specialties include house-made falafel and chicken and beef shawarma, one of the world’s most beloved street foods. Diners can also enjoy salads and hummus bowls, classic dips like baba ghanouj, labneh, and muhammara and the eatery’s signature za’atar sumac fries.
With vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, Amar Sandwich Shop caters to a variety of diets and palates. For those with a sweet tooth, indulge in tahini shakes or house-made desserts like baklava.
