Café Aroma Opens In Boca Raton
Cuban Coffee Brand Brings First Location To Town Center
A long‑established Cuban espresso brand has made its cafe debut in Boca Raton. Café Aroma, a family‑owned company founded more than 60 years ago by Cuban immigrants, has opened its first brick‑and‑mortar location at Two Town Center.
The New Jersey‑based brand, best known for Cuban‑style espresso sold in grocery stores nationwide, officially opened the doors on May 29 following a soft launch. The Boca Raton location marks a new chapter for Café Aroma, shifting from retail products to hospitality while preserving the heritage that has defined the company for decades.
“Over 60 years after my grandfather started Café Aroma by selling his then hand‑roasted espresso door to door in New York City, we couldn’t be more proud to follow in his footsteps with the opening of our first café,” says Bernadette Gerrit, Vice President of Café Aroma and granddaughter of founder Rogelio ‘Roy’ Montes De Oca. “Our Boca Raton café is built around the same values that have shaped us from the beginning: quality, culture, and connection.”
Open daily, the cafe serves a full menu of espresso beverages made with Café Aroma’s signature Especial beans, along with specialty drinks and teas. Guests can also choose from traditional Cuban pastries and savory items designed for quick visits or casual seating, including pastelitos, croquetas and empanadas from Vicky Bakery.
In addition to food and beverages, the space includes a small mercadito offering packaged goods inspired by Cuba, Spain and Latin America. The market features coffee products, pantry staples and curated snacks and gifts.
The intimate cafe spans 440 square feet and seats eight guests. Designed in‑house, the space draws inspiration from Old Havana, with vintage furnishings, black‑and‑white photography of Cuba and details intended to encourage conversation and community.
Company officials say Boca Raton was selected for the first cafe as a way to introduce Cuban coffee culture beyond Miami while building on Café Aroma’s longstanding connection to Florida.
