Granger’s Grille, a beloved Delray Beach staple known for its hefty burgers and flavor-packed sandwiches, has closed its doors after 30 years in business.
Since opening in 1995, the all-American eatery has served as a go-to comfort food destination for locals and visitors alike. The news of its closing came as a surprise to many longtime patrons and was announced in a heartfelt Facebook post on May 12. According to the statement, the closure came after the sale of the building that housed the restaurant.
“As a family-owned business, this decision was not made by will, but by circumstance,” the post reads.
Granger’s Grille’s loyal following will surely miss the many staples that made the restaurant a local favorite — from well-stacked sandwiches like the Tuna Melt, Philly Cheese Steak and Smothered Grilled Chicken Sandwich, to juicy burgers including the Bun-Less Burger, Patty Melt and After Five Burger (sautéed mushrooms and onions in red wine, topped with Swiss cheese on a brioche bun).
“To every guest who shared a meal, a moment or a memory with us over the years, thank you,” states the Facebook post. “From first dates to family dinners, brunches with friends to quiet weekday lunches, you made Granger’s more than just a restaurant. You made it a home. Delray Beach, you showed us love, loyalty and a true sense of community. We are beyond grateful for your support, your smiles and the countless memories created within these walls.”
