Gesto Pizzeria Opens In Delray Beach
Kurban Hospitality Group Brings Artisanal Pizzas To Atlantic Avenue
Delray Beach’s acclaimed restaurateur Nicolas Kurban, from Kurban Hospitality Group, has announced the opening of his latest Italian concept, Gesto, taking over the former space of the recently relocated Amar Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar — another gem in Kurban’s growing hospitality portfolio.
Opened on Feb. 19, Gesto’s standout feature is its wood-fired sourdough pizzas, boasting a delicate balance of crispy, airy and chewy textures. At the helm of this culinary craft is Garri Banar, a seasoned pizzaiolo and artisan baker renowned for his mastery of fermentation and technique.
With just 55 seats, Gesto — pronounced “jesto” and inspired by the expressive hand gestures of Italian culture — offers an intimate experience with front-row views of the pizza-making process.
The pizza selection includes five red and five white varieties, blending tradition with bold flavors. Highlights include the classic Margherita, a pepperoni and jalapeño pie and an inventive Cosmic Crisp apple pizza topped with cinnamon and spicy honey. The menu also features insalata and antipasto starters, along with three indulgent desserts.
“Pizza is science, but great pizza is art,” says Kurban. “It’s all about the dough! Garri and I share a belief that exceptional ingredients and proper technique are what make the difference. Gesto is about honoring tradition while embracing innovation, creating something truly special for Delray Beach.”
