Wood-Fired Pizzeria Expands In South Florida
Piacere Pizza has opened a new location in Boca Raton at Yamato Crossing, adding to its growing presence across South Florida with artisanal Neapolitan pizzas.
The restaurant focuses on traditional pizza-making techniques, using wood-fired ovens to produce thin, crisp crusts with a char characteristic of Neapolitan-style cooking. Specialty pizzas range from a classic Margherita with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil to combinations like Pepperoni Hot-Honey with stracciatella; Black Truffle with mushrooms and shaved Parmesan; and Burrata And Prosciutto topped with arugula, figs and balsamic glaze.
Piacere was founded by husband-and-wife team Jorge Corona and Maria Gabriela, who met in Caracas, Venezuela. Two years later, in 2018, they relocated to the United States to pursue opportunities in the restaurant industry, where Jorge began working as a pizza assistant and honed his craft as a pizzaiolo.
Using their personal savings, the couple launched Piacere Pizza as a small food truck at the end of 2019, aspiring to leave a legacy for their family. They often worked well into the wee morning hours, staying open until 3 a.m. After building a following through events, delivery platforms and a loyal customer base, they expanded into multiple brick-and-mortar locations across Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines and Orlando.
Beyond pizza, the menu includes appetizers such as meat lasagna, heirloom tomato bruschetta and caprese salad, along with items like burrata plates and sandwiches. Desserts include Nutella pizza and pistachio cream variations.
