Pubbelly Sushi Opens New Location In Boca Raton
A New Destination For Japanese And Latin-Fusion Dining Arrives In South Florida
Established in Miami in 2010, Pubbelly Sushi’s recent Boca Raton opening joins its sister locations in Aventura, Brickell City Centre, Dadeland, Miami Beach, Pembroke Pines and, also newly opened, West Palm Beach.
Chef and founder José Mendín created Pubbelly Sushi as “a place where chefs could eat high-quality, affordable dishes in a cool atmosphere.” A fusion of Japanese and Latin-inspired cuisine, the restaurant quickly became a local favorite.
Along with chef de cuisine, Sergio Navarro, and Andreas Schreiner, the trio won StarChefs Rising Star Restaurateur Award in 2016, then in 2020, the restaurant won the Miami New Times Readers' Choice Award for "Best Sushi." Mendín is also a five-time James Beard Award semifinalist for “Best Chef, Southeast.”
With its eclectic gastropub atmosphere and unique culinary combinations, Pubbelly prides itself in consistency from its original spot to each opening.
Some Latin-fusion menu items include the trio of Pubbelly Taquitos, Tostones Con Ceviche with hamachi and ginger soy and the Salmon Lemongrass with “romesco,” tomatoes and hazelnuts.
Of course, classic sushi joins Pubbelly specialty rolls, as well as hot and cold appetizers, grilled entrees and other Asian-fusion dishes. Signature and sake-based cocktails elevate the menu.
Pubbelly Sushi is also committed to sustainability. Partnered with Miami Waterkeeper, the restaurant introduced new takeout containers with compostable bowls and trays made from bamboo and plastic lids.
Pubbelly Sushi is located at Two Town Center, 5377 Town Center Road, Ste. 400, Boca Raton. For more information, visit pubbellyglobal.com.
