South Palm Beach County’s dining scene took a double hit last month with the unexpected closures of Lefkes Estiatorio in Delray Beach and Tin Fish Boca in West Boca Raton. The two restaurants that arrived with distinct identities and loyal followings but ultimately proved short-lived.
Lefkes Estiatorio brought Mykonos-style nightlife with refined Mediterranean cuisine to Delray Beach Market when it opened in August 2024. The restaurant was the first new concept to occupy the space following the closure of the food hall in early 2023. Drawing inspiration from its roots in Athens and Santorini, along with an outpost in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, Lefkes aimed to transport diners with a glamorous, celebratory atmosphere that stood out in downtown Delray.
Lefkes has not issued a public reason for its closure.
In West Boca Raton, Tin Fish Boca announced its closure more directly. The seafood and sushi restaurant at Yamato Village Center shared the news through its website and social media channels, confirming that it would cease operations after about two years in business. The restaurant did not specify a reason for closing, stating only that it was unable to continue operating.
“For the past two years, Tin Fish has been far more than just a restaurant to us,” the restaurant said in its farewell message. “It became a place where friendships were formed, families gathered, celebrations were shared, and countless memories were made around our tables.”
Tin Fish Boca offered a wide-ranging menu that blended coastal Italian seafood, sushi, steaks and raw bar selections. Signature items included lobster rolls, whole crispy branzino, seafood towers and the popular Tin Fish Roll, while live music nights and happy hour specials helped attract a loyal local following.
“Serving you has been one of the greatest privileges we have ever experienced,” the message continued. “The memories created within these walls will stay with all of us forever.”
