Brunching and South Florida go hand-in-hand, yet many popular eateries fall short on delivering on either the food or the ambiance. Enter Delilah Miami, the luxurious supper-club hotspot that debuted in Miami a year ago. A visit to this restaurant is always memorable. After all, it earned its iconic status when it opened in Los Angeles in 2016 and followed with a second outpost in 2021 at the Wynn Las Vegas, a city where over-the-top experiences are practically a requirement.
The Miami location spans over 10,000 square feet with an expansive outdoor terrace that offers an impressive view of Biscayne Bay. But blink and you might miss the understated entrance — a subtle touch that only adds to Delilah’s air of exclusivity. Once inside, however, glamour reigns. An expansive foyer leads you up a set of stairs to the hostess station, where, after checking in, you are led up a grand staircase toward the main affair.
Delilah is a true feast for the senses — and that’s even before the first dish arrives. The sultry dining room is bathed in rich pink and teal hues with accents of gold. Plush pink booths, pink marble surfaces and a green patterned carpet create a striking visual, all complemented by seashell-and jaguar-printed wallpaper. Caricatures of Miami legends done by British portrait artist Blue Logan appear on walls, lamps and menus, adding a playful touch. A cozy stage framed by tropical green foliage nods to the classic supper clubs of the 1950s and ’60s.
This decadent design blends beautifully with the celebratory spirit of Sunday brunch, offered from noon to 3 p.m. weekly. An exceptional jazz singer croons soulful tunes with her band as you settle in. While there are several fabulous cocktails to kick off the meal — the Little Lillet features gin, rosé, rose water and grapefruit soda — the shining star is the Bloody Mary. Crafted tableside, it arrives on a show-stopping cart laden with an abundance of garnishes. Beyond the traditional celery, options include thick-cut crispy bacon, asparagus spears, shrimp cocktail, charcuterie skewers, king crab and even caviar. A few sips of this, and the party has officially begun.
Brunch favorites include the Dutch Baby — sunny-side-up eggs, bacon, Gruyère cheese and caramelized onions nestled inside a large, oven-baked pancake that is a cross between a popover and a crêpe. For those craving a traditional bite, the restaurant’s Eggs Benedict (poached eggs, Canadian bacon, hollandaise on an English muffin) hits the spot, while The Breakfast Sandwich — made with scrambled egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, avocado, roasted peppers, arugula on a potato bun — is a handheld dream come true. Delilah earned a solid reputation for its chicken tenders and, when ordering Delilah Chicken Tenders And Waffles for brunch, you’ll soon understand why. The tenders are delightfully crunchy on the outside yet moist and flavorful inside. Served alongside fluffy waffles with maple syrup and honey butter, it’s the ideal blend of savory and sweet. If you’d rather go sweet, the Bread Pudding French Toast with seasonal berry compote and Chantilly cream or the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with blueberry compote and candied lemon are both pretty and tasty. If you want to sneak lunch in with brunch, The Burger — served on a potato bun with special sauce, American cheese and the fixings — or Glory Bay Salmon with Greek yogurt, avocado, cucumber, French breakfast radish and watercress, are worthy choices.
All the while, the band plays, you sip your second (or third) cocktail and take in the beautiful view — making for a sumptuous way to spend your Sunday. And for those with an appetite for more, a buffet is available, offering an extra selection of pastries and sweets (cue in the chocolate fountain). It’s a brunch experience that combines elegance, indulgence and just the right amount of Miami’s charm.
